First and foremost, a general wellness care visit is the best time to practice preventative care. This means we will run diagnostic tests by palpating your cat or dog’s body and noting any irregularities that might be present. If we find something, it will be noted and examined further. Wellness care is the first step to diagnosing any potential issues. If your pet misses a wellness care visit, they could be developing underlying and concerning health issues. To be sure your pet maintains their health, scheduling yearly wellness appointments is key.
In addition to the traditional wellness visits that we offer, Rye Hill Veterinary Clinic can vaccinate your cat or dog depending on their lifestyle and needs. If they are younger, we will analyze their living conditions and determine which vaccinations they would benefit from most, rather than following a cookie-cutter set of shots. Then, each year they’ll receive booster vaccines to make sure they remain protected.
We also offer microchipping services. A microchip is an identification device, about the size of a grain of rice, that contains a serial number specific to you and your pet. This chip will be associated not only with your phone number, but our clinic phone number as well. The microchip will be implanted between your pet’s shoulder blades through the use of a syringe. Whenever it is scanned using a special scanning tool, it will bring up the serial number that can be traced back to the pet’s owner and our clinic. This way, if you ever lose contact with your pet, reconnecting with them can be a simpler process.
